1. What Is This Document?

If you have responded to a property advertisement or filled in a lead form — either on Facebook, Instagram, or a HomeFeed-hosted landing page — your contact details may have been stored in a HomeFeed account belonging to the estate agent or property business that ran the campaign.

This document explains your rights over that data, and exactly how to exercise them.

2. Your Rights at a Glance

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that inaccurate data is corrected
  • Deletion — request that your data is permanently deleted
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection — object to how your data is being used

3. How to Request Deletion of Your Data

You can request deletion of your data at any time. There is no cost, and no requirement to give a reason.

3.1 Option 1 — Email HomeFeed directly

Send an email to: privacy@home-feed.co.uk

Please include the following in your email:

  • Your full name
  • The email address you used when submitting the lead form
  • Your phone number (if you provided one)
  • If known, the name of the estate agent or property business whose advert you responded to

We will confirm receipt of your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

3.2 Option 2 — Contact the estate agent directly

The estate agent or property business whose campaign generated your lead also has the ability to delete your record. You can contact them directly and ask them to remove your details from their HomeFeed account.

4. What Happens When You Request Deletion

Once we receive and verify your request:

  1. Your lead record will be permanently deleted from the estate agent's HomeFeed account
  2. Your data will be removed from HomeFeed's systems
  3. Where your data came from a Facebook or Instagram lead form, deletion will be actioned in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms — specifically the data deletion obligations under Section 3.d of those Terms, which require HomeFeed as a Tech Provider to delete Meta Platform Data when it is no longer needed for its original purpose or when a User requests deletion
  4. We will send you written confirmation that your data has been deleted

Please note: we may be required by law to retain certain records (for example, transaction or payment records) for a defined period, but this will never include your lead contact details.

5. Data Export

If you are a Business User (an estate agent or property business with a HomeFeed account), you can export all lead data associated with your account at any time while your account is active, directly from within the HomeFeed platform.

6. What Happens to Data When a HomeFeed Account Is Cancelled

When a Business User (the estate agent or property business) cancels or deletes their HomeFeed account:

  • All lead data associated with that account is permanently and irrecoverably deleted
  • HomeFeed does not retain any lead data after account deletion
  • This includes all lead data that originated from Facebook or Instagram lead forms — in line with HomeFeed's obligations as a Tech Provider under Meta's Platform Terms, which require deletion of Meta Platform Data when it is no longer needed for its original purpose or when the relevant client account closes
  • Data export is available at any time before account deletion, but not after

If you are a lead (End User) and the estate agent whose campaign captured your data has since closed their HomeFeed account, your data will already have been permanently deleted.

7. If You Are Not Satisfied

If you are unhappy with how HomeFeed has handled your data or your deletion request, you have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator.

We would always encourage you to contact us first at privacy@home-feed.co.uk so we have the opportunity to resolve your concern directly.
